On November 18, 2025, the International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia (ICCCM) successfully hosted the inaugural ceremony of the China-Timor-Leste Smart Tourism Friendship College, established between the Chongqing Vocational Institute of Tourism and the Dili Institute of Technology. The event featured keynote addresses from President Chen Min of Chongqing and Deputy Rector Marcos Taec Abi of Dili, both of whom celebrated this milestone in international educational cooperation. This partnership aims to modernize the tourism industry by blending vocational expertise with digital innovation, fostering a strong academic bond between China and Timor-Leste.
The collaboration introduces a specialized curriculum focused on “Big Data Analysis and Application in Tourism,” led by a diverse team of academic and technical experts. Ms. Luo Meiju brings her expertise in smart tourism and new media operations, while Ms. Tang Yusi provides foundational training in data modeling and systems science. Their combined efforts ensure that students are equipped with the analytical tools necessary to thrive in a data-driven global market.
Further strengthening the program, Mr. Wu Anshun and Associate Professor Ms. Lv Chunli contribute high-level technical and research insights. Mr. Wu, a Red Hat Certified Architect, provides extensive experience in network engineering and student competition coaching, while Ms. Lv integrates her research on AI empowerment and personalized tourism models into the coursework. Together, these educators are dedicated to cultivating a highly skilled workforce ready to lead the digital transformation of the tourism sectors in both nations.
