China–Indonesia Higher Education Exchange Meeting Successfully Concluded

On 23 June 2026 (Tuesday), a significant bilateral meeting was successfully held in Indonesia between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia and the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, Ministry of Education, P. R. China, at the Ministry’s premises in Jakarta. 

The meeting gathered senior government officials, institutional leaders, and representatives from higher education institutions from both countries.

The session commenced with guest arrival, followed by opening remarks by the moderator and the national anthems of Indonesia and China. Attendees were then formally introduced before a group photo session to commemorate the occasion.

Welcome speeches were delivered by distinguished representatives, including:

  • Prof. Dr. med. Setiawan, Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Science, Innovation, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek)
  • Mr. Yu Changxue, Director of the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE)
  • Ms. Nicy Bai, Chairman of International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia (ICCCM)

The second session focused on sharing practical experiences in international education cooperation. Representatives from Indonesian institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Universitas Borobudur, and Telkom University, presented their institutional cooperation models and international engagement initiatives.

On the Chinese side, representatives from Hunan Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Power shared insights into their international education collaboration practices.

An open discussion session followed, allowing participants to exchange views on strengthening academic cooperation, expanding student and faculty mobility, and enhancing institutional partnerships between China and Indonesia.

The meeting concluded with a ceremonial exchange of souvenirs between delegations, symbolizing mutual respect and continued collaboration, followed by a closing session and luncheon.
