On 1 July 2026, Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic and Kolej Komuniti Masjid Tanah, Malaysia, successfully held the Signing & Inaugural Ceremony of the Friendship Institute, marking the beginning of a new chapter in international collaboration in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The ceremony brought together the leadership and academic representatives from both institutions to formalize their partnership, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening academic cooperation, promoting faculty and student exchanges, and advancing railway education through international collaboration.
Immediately following the ceremony, both institutions commenced a three-day online academic programme (1–3 July 2026) on Railway Lines & Station Facilities. The programme provides a platform for lecturers and participants to explore contemporary railway technologies, operational practices, and station infrastructure while fostering professional dialogue and knowledge sharing between China and Malaysia.
The establishment of the Friendship Institute represents a significant milestone in enhancing educational cooperation between the two institutions and reflects their mutual vision of developing globally competent talents in the railway and transportation sectors.
The International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia (ICCCM), serving as the Secretariat of the International Transnational Education Association (ITEA), is honoured to facilitate this meaningful partnership and looks forward to supporting more international initiatives that promote academic excellence, innovation, and cross-border collaboration.
