On 19 May, the International Transnational Education Association (ITEA), together with its secretariat, the International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia (ICCCM), successfully hosted the global ITEA workshop titled “International Impact Building for Higher Education Institutions: The Technological Universities System in Egypt.”

The workshop brought together educators, researchers, higher education professionals, and participants from around the world to explore Egypt’s evolving technological higher education landscape.

The event commenced with an opening speech by Dr. Ahmed El-Geushey, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Technological Education (SCTE), Egypt, who shared valuable insights on the importance of technological education, international cooperation, and strengthening higher education systems to meet future industry and workforce demands.

The session was further enriched by a keynote presentation from Prof. Dr. Mohamed Watany, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Technological Universities System in Egypt, highlighting the country’s efforts in promoting industry-driven education, applied learning, curriculum innovation, and alignment with the latest educational developments.

Participants also gained valuable exposure to Egypt’s approach in bridging academia and industry through technological universities, structured internship models, practical training pathways, and the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) to enhance graduate employability and align with international standards.

We are also pleased to announce that the next session in this international education series will feature the Education System in Kazakhstan on 25 June 2026. Stay tuned for more upcoming global engagement opportunities.
