On January 18, 2025, the International Transnational Education Association (ITEA), through its main secretariat ICCCM, had the honor of hosting a delegation from the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE) alongside representatives from leading Chinese universities and companies.
The delegation visited ICCCM’s headquarters in Malaysia to engage in discussions aimed at fostering potential collaborations between institutions in China and Malaysia, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
The delegation from CCIPE was led by Mr. Yu Chang Xue, Director General of CCIPE, accompanied by Ms. Tang Yun, Director of Major Projects and Activities Division, and Mr. Song Mian, Program Officer of the Major Projects Division. They were joined by representatives from five prestigious Chinese universities and one prominent Chinese company, including:
- University of International Business and Economics
- Xiamen University
- China University of Petroleum, Beijing
- Communication University of China
- Dalian University of Foreign Languages
The session began with a warm welcome by Ms. Nicy Bai, Chairman of ICCCM, who expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit and introduced ICCCM as well as its parent organization, the International Transnational Education Association (ITEA).
Ms. Loo Hui Ann, Managing Director of ICCCM, followed with a detailed presentation on ICCCM’s initiatives, vision, and ongoing contributions to international education.
Mr. Yu Chang Xue, Director General of CCIPE, delivered an inspiring opening remark, emphasizing the importance of this meaningful meeting and thanking ICCCM for organizing such a productive gathering.
The meeting progressed into a lively discussion session focusing on potential collaborative projects between Chinese and Malaysian institutions. Representatives from the participating universities shared their interest in establishing partnerships with Malaysian universities, with discussions centering on academic exchanges, research collaborations, and cultural programs.
The session concluded with a summary of the key points discussed and an agreement to explore actionable initiatives moving forward. Both sides exchanged souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, followed by a group photo to commemorate this significant occasion.
